Place.
It's indescribably beautiful that no one knows where it is . It's hard to come back to this place even if you visited somehow by coincidentally. That’s why we can only call it that space a “곳, place". The place where people can't reach, 곳.
어디에 위치하는지 아무도 모르고 설명하기 어려울 정도로 아름다운 곳.
우연히 한 번 다녀온 사람도 다시 찾아가기 어렵다.
그래서 ‘곳’이라고 밖에 부를 수 없다.
사람의 손이 닿지 않을, 그 ‘곳’.

어느 날 눈을 떴을 때, 나는 바람이었고 여태 본적도 들은적도 없는 조용하고 광활한 그들의 공간을 시원히 달리고 있었다.
그들은 평화로운 삶을 살아가고 있었고, 그들만의 하루를 나른히 보내는 듯 했다. 덩달아 나 또한 어떠한 생각 없이 날고 있을 뿐이였다. 나는 그 ‘곳’에 거의 처음 발을 디딘 사람이란 것을 확신한다. 어떠한 때도 타지 않았음을 알았다. 스스로 인지하지 못한 어느순간 나는 일상에 있었다. 그들과 충분한 인사를 나눈 뒤였기 때문일 것이다.
책 ‘곳’은 내가 다녀와 그려온 동물들이 살아가는 공간 ‘곳’을 살짝 엿볼 수 있는 책이 되었으면 한다.
그들도 함께 살아가는 아름다운 생명임을. 누구도 해해서는 안될 존재임을.
When I woke up one day, I was running cool through their space as a wind. It was a place I had never seen or heard of before, and it was quiet and vast. They seemed to have a peaceful and languid day. I was also just flying without any thought. I'm sure I'm almost the first person to set foot in that 'place'. I knew there was no darkness. At one point, I didn't recognize myself, I was in my daily life. It may be because it was after having enough greetings with them. I hope the book 'Place' will be a book that gives a glimpse of the animals I have met after I have been there. Beautiful lives that live together. No one should be harmed.

I drew my memory of going to the ‘place’. This is because we should not forget that we are living together with them. I shouldn't be the only one who’s living here proudly - No one can ever own where we are stepping on. I want you to know that the view you see is also the view they see. I want you to realize that we are all living together in this place.
‘곳’을 다녀온 나의 기억을 그려보았다. 그들도 함께 살아가는 존재임을 놓쳐서는 안되기 때문이다. 나만이 살아간다 자만하면 안될 것이다. 우리가 밟고 있는 곳은 결코 누구도 소유할 수 없다. 당신이 바라보는 시야 또한 그들도 보는 풍경임을 알았으면 한다. 함께 살아가는 존재임을 깨달았으면 한다.
